Can the phone be charged all night, dangerous?

Although many mobile phones now have overcharge protection, no matter how good the magic is, there are flaws, and we, as users, don’t know much about the maintenance of mobile phones, and often don’t know how to remedy it even if it causes irreparable damage. So, let’s first understand how much overcharge protection can protect you.

1. Charge the mobile phone overnight wll damage the battery?

Charging the mobile phone overnight may encounter the possibility of repeated charging. Repeatedly charging the mobile phone at a constant voltage will reduce the battery life. However, the smart phones we use now are all lithium batteries, which will stop charging after being fully charged, and will not continue to charge until the battery power is below a certain voltage; and usually when the mobile phone is in standby mode, the power drops very slowly, so even if it is charged It will not trigger recharging frequently throughout the night.
Although charging the battery overnight will not damage the battery, in the long run, the battery life will be greatly reduced, and even easily cause circuit problems, so try to avoid charging the battery overnight.

2. Recharge the battery when power is out to keep its life?

The mobile phone battery does not need to be discharged and recharged every once in a while, but many users have the idea that the mobile phone battery needs to be “trained” to be able to charge as much power as possible, so in order to achieve this purpose, the user will use the mobile phone battery Glow and refill every once in a while.

In fact, when the phone has 15%-20% of power left, the charging efficiency is the highest.

3. Low temperature is better for battery?

We all subconsciously think that “high temperature” is harmful, and “low temperature” can alleviate damage. In order to increase the battery life of the mobile phone, some users will use it in a lower temperature environment. This approach is actually wrong. Low temperature not only does not extend the battery life, but also affects the battery life. Both “hot” and “cold” will have “bad effects” on lithium-ion batteries, so batteries have a limited operating temperature range. For smartphone batteries, indoor temperature is the best temperature.

Overcharge protection

When the battery is normally charged by the charger, as the charging time increases, the voltage of the cell will become higher and higher. When the cell voltage rises to 4.4V, DW01 (a smart lithium battery protection chip) will consider the cell voltage Is already in the overcharge voltage state, immediately disconnect the output voltage of pin 3, so that the voltage of pin 3 becomes 0V, 8205A (the field effect tube used for switching, also used for lithium battery board protection). Pin 4 is closed without voltage. That is, the charging circuit of the battery cell is cut off, and the battery cell will stop charging. The protection board is in an overcharged state and has been maintained. After the P and P- of the protection board discharge the load indirectly, although the overcharge control switch is turned off, the forward direction of the diode inside is the same as the direction of the discharge circuit, so the discharge circuit can be discharged. When the voltage of the battery cell When the voltage is lower than 4.3V, DW01 stops the overcharge protection state and outputs a high voltage at pin 3 again, so that the overcharge control tube in 8205A is turned on, that is, the B- of the battery and the protection board P- are connected again. The battery cell can be charged and discharged normally.
To put it simply, overcharge protection is just to automatically sense heat inside the phone and cut off the power input for charging.

is it safe?
Each mobile phone must be different, and many mobile phones will have complete functions, which will naturally make the R&D and manufacturing more troublesome, and there will be some small mistakes.

We are all using smartphones, but the cause of the explosion of mobile phones is not just overcharging, there are many other possibilities.

Lithium-ion batteries are considered to be the most promising power battery system due to their significant advantages of both high specific energy and high specific power.

At present, the main obstacle restricting the application of large-capacity lithium-ion power batteries is the safety of the battery.

Batteries are the source of power for mobile phones. Once they are used unsafely for a long time, under high temperature and pressure, they can easily cause irreparable damage. Under the abusive conditions of overcharging, short circuit, stamping, puncture, vibration, high temperature thermal shock, etc., the battery is prone to unsafe behaviors such as explosion or burning.
So it can be said with certainty that long-term charging is extremely unsafe.

How to maintain the phone?
(1) It is best to charge according to the charging method described in the mobile phone manual, according to the standard time and standard method, especially not to charge more than 12 hours.

(2) Turn off the phone if it is not used for a long time, and charge it in time when the phone is almost out of power. Overdischarge poses a serious risk to the lithium battery, which may cause permanent damage to the battery. The most serious one may not be able to operate normally, so when you use it, you must even charge it when you see the battery alarm.

(3) When charging the mobile phone, try not to operate the mobile phone. Although it will not cause too much impact on the mobile phone, radiation will be generated during the charging process, which is not good for health.
